PFC-Gas provides assessments of forward prices for commonly traded packages across all the key trading hubs in North America. Elements of this product include:
- Daily assessments and associated ranges provided for 28 key locations for 11 time periods, extending out three calendar years; Longer-term valuations provided by Platts M2M risk products, which model assessments as far out as 20 years
- Independent assessments of swaps based on real market activity rather than models
- Market commentary explaining natural gas price movements and market developments
This product combines the data-gathering power and expertise of both Platts and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Platts also uses Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)/New York Mercantile Exchange (NYME) intraday and end-of-the-day prices, broker quotes, and direct quotes from market participants to provide natural gas forward curve price assessments.
Daily gas price assessments and associated ranges are formulated for the prompt month, second month, third month, four full seasons, and three calendar years. Seasonal packages include the November-March winter package and the April-October summer package.
