Formosa Petrochemical Corporation primarily engages in crude oil refining, and petrochemical and petroleum products manufacturing businesses in Taiwan.

It operates in four divisions: Refinery and Oil Products, Petrochemical- Olefins, Utilities, and Other Products and Services.

The Refinery and Oil Products division refines crude oil and sells the products of such refining operations.

Its refined petroleum products include LPG, naphtha, jet fuel/kerosene, gasoil, gasoline, fuel oil, and other products.

The Petrochemical- Olefins division produces and sells olefins, including ethylene, propylene, BTX, and butadiene.

The Utilities division produces and sells utilities products, including electricity and steam.

This division also operates 3 co-generation power plants, which are coal-fired with a combined installed capacity of 1,820 megawatts.

The Other Products and Services division provides engineering services, maintenance services, and harbor administration services, as well as sells products, such as C4, CO, and industrial water.

Formosa Petrochemical was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Mailiao, Taiwan.
