Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. operates as a refiner of crude oil in Central Europe.
The company involves in processing crude oil into unleaded petrol, diesel, heating oil, and aviation fuel, as well as plastics and other petroleum related products.
It offers fuels, motorcycle oils, motorcar oils, and car care products, such as cosmetics and engine coolants; and biocides to protect various fuel products from microbiological contamination.
The company also provides bitumen products, including road and industrial bitumen, and elastomer bitumen for construction of surfaces, such as motorways or bridges; glues for tar boards, hydroinsulation mixes, and solutions for grounding; low sulfur diesel fuels, and aviation fuel and marine oils; industrial oils, such as compressor, machinery, metal-cutting, maintenance, gear, hardening, and hydraulic oils; and petrochemicals comprising polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, and other petrochemicals.
In addition, Polski Koncern offers propane-butane liquefied gas for heating warehouses and stockrooms, as well as for farms, living containers, homes, summer houses, camps, picnics barbecues, and other outdoor events; and light furnace heating oil for central heating boilers in detached houses, hospitals, and schools.
The company offers its products through a wholesale and retail network. It operates seven refineries consisting of three each in Poland and the Czech Republic, and one in Lithuania; and a network of approximately 2,700 outlets.
The company was formerly known as Mazowieckie Zaklady Rafineryjne i Petrochemiczne Petrochemia Plock S.A. and changed its name to Polski Koncern Naftowy Spolka Ackyina in 1999.
Later, it changed its name to Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN Spolka Akcyjna in 2000.
